Important News on Membership Fees
Starting in the 2018 Girl Scout membership year, which begins October 1, 2017, our annual national membership dues will increase to $25 for girls and adults. This is separate from our $15 council service fee. Girls may use their Cookie Dough to pay for or offset membership fees. The updated dues will be reflected during early-bird registration, which begins on April 1, 2017.
All membership dues go directly to Girl Scouts of the USA. With the extra funding, GSUSA will be able to sustain and develop exceptional leadership programs, implement digital innovations to enhance the girl and volunteer experience nationwide, maintain fundamental services for our 2.7 million members, and better engage our 59 million alumnae.
A Facelift for Farnsworth
We’re making excellent progress on making a great camp even better! Several projects are currently underway at Camp Farnsworth. Renovations to the camp’s dining hall – as well as a brand-new bunkhouse – are expected to be completed in time for this summer’s camp season.
The dining hall will have new kitchen appliances, a new ADA-accessible deck, a revamped main entrance, a modified fireplace, a new PA system, and acoustic tile ceilings.
The bunkhouse, which will sleep 24 people and be available for year-round use, will have two bathrooms, two counselors’ studios, and a kitchen.
Both buildings are energy-efficient, in keeping with the Girl Scout Green! Are you excited for summer yet?
